Efren - had been a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus ever since he was in his primary tender age. His appreciation of the love of the Lord Jesus for him started at early age at twelve and with strong calling of service to the Lord through a community church choir group way back in overseas catholic dominated country Philippines. As a growing teenager, he served in the altar and has been a "sacristan" - assisting a local priest in the mass celebrations. Everything seemed all good for him amidst with those wonderful religious ceremonies however, Efren's seeking heart coupled with his craving and thirsty spirit lead him to another yet higher level of spiritual christian-journey experience much more so when he was introduced by colleagues at work to reading the Bible in a group study.
Thus, 22 years ago, being single and also at a young age of 22 Efren received the Lord Jesus in his heart and spirit according to the biblical principle of the Book of Romans Chapter 10, verse 9 ... "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved".
Efren then realizes that all the works he did whilst being a young lad, didn't have much bearing in the salvation work of Christ but only when he came across of the verse in Romans 10:9 that he had full realisation of this Christ dynamic salvation. Much more grace and enjoyment of the Lord outpoured in him when he discovered that there is an interpreted bible one could so easily understand and enjoy as life-releasing holy words. Now at 44 and for over twenty years, Efren has continued in his reading and enjoyment of this wonderful copy Recovery Version Bible with it's 9,000 massive footnotes and life-study references.
This enjoyment in reading the bible had been arranged by the Lord in His sovereignty, so fitly prepared Efren to initially anchor the program with his former co-presentor Icaro Rosson into the local community radio WOW FM 100.7 when opportunity opened-up to start broadcasting the Life-Study of the Bible in Australia. Whilst Efren Mazo is at the forefront of the studio broadcast, his former co-presentor Icaro Rosson was all responsible for editing and carefully re-formatting the US-version program to suit the Australian audience. Icaro Rosson was even responsible for harnessing local Australian voice talents to fit into our program.
